Start of the trail The Hello Rock Trail is accessed from the old Halfway House Site on the far right as you are coming up the mountain. The trail is marked by a wooden sign where the Thoreau, Point Surprise, and Hello Rock Trails all go into the trees. Just after you go into the trees, the three trails split all at the same place with the Hello Rock Trail going off to the right. The trail is smooth here and only slightly uphill. Quickly you will go past a rock that has a limited view to your right.

Trail following along some rocks A little further down the trail, it starts into some thick spruce trees that block almost all of the sun. Here the trail actually heads downhill a little. After the spruce, the trees open up some along the trail you go along the edge of some rocks. Just after this the trail makes a left that is marked by a small wooden sign with an arrow on it. After a little more easy hiking, you will come to the end of the trail where it meets the Cliff Walk Trail and the open rocky area that is Hello Rock.

When descending... the trail is accessed off of the Cliff Walk Trail and is the last trail heading to your right before you get to the end at the Parker Trail. The trail is marked by a wooden sign on a tree. Following the trail is easy and the trail is pretty smooth for the entire length and has no steep sections. Just before the very end, the trail will join with the Point Surprise and Thoreau Trails shortly before coming out the old Halfway House Site.
