Passing through a stone wall The Parker Trail starts off at the park headquarters along the lower side of Poole Reservoir. It heads West along the lower sections of the mountain until it reaches the Old Toll Road approximately halfway up it. The trail goes around the bottom part of Poole Reservoir crossing the brook next to the dam. The trail then heads up hill at a gentle incline with limited rocks and roots. While continuing up you will cross through a stone wall before getting into a little bit thicker forest. Here the trail levels out for the most part before coming to the lower end of the Lost Farm Trail. Moving past the intersection, the trail starts to follow a stone wall while remaining mostly level. Soon you will come to a section that can be wet at times and has many flat stones placed to walk along.

Gentle section of the Parker Trail The trail continues along the stone wall for a while longer before coming to a brook crossing where you actually walk along the wall to stay out of the water. The trail now starts to gain elevation slightly leaving the level ground behind. The trail surface is mostly smooth, but does gain some rocky sections as it heads upward. Soon you will be at the Cliff Walk Trail that heads to your right. The trail continues to gain elevation at a steady pace going over more frequent and longer rocky sections. Soon you will come through a small notch with a small hump to your left and a much steeper embankment on your right. The trail will level out here and then head downhill just a little bit before it comes out to the Old Toll Road where you can go right to continue up the mountain.

When descending... the trail is reached off of the Old Toll Road. You will head uphill briefly with a left turn in the trail marked by a sign where it looks like there might be a trail going forward, but there is not. Then the trail will head downhill over some rocky sections before coming to the Cliff Walk Trail on your left. The trail continues downhill a little more before leveling out. The trail loses very little elevation for a section now which includes a brook crossing by walking along the stone wall next to the trail. Soon you will come to the Lost Farm Trail on your right before the trail steadily heads downhill again. It continues like this until you come to the lower end of the Poole Reservoir and the main park headquarters.
