Early section of trail The Sidefoot Trail starts off on the upper end of the old Halfway House Site and is marked by a wooden sign on a post. The trail starts off with a quick climb up a few stone steps in order to get into the trees. After this, the trail goes up at a moderate incline that isn't too difficult. There are some rocks in the trail, but not many. Before long you will come to the first intersection on the trail where the Do Drop Trail heads up the mountain to the right. At this point, the Sidefoot Trail is climbing gradually, but also working its way along the side of the ridge to your right.

Grassy section of trail As you continue along the trail, you will quickly come to the Noble and Hedgehog Trail intersections as they head up to your right just as the Do Drop Trail did. Once you are past these intersections, the trail starts to get steeper and has a few places where it is a bit rocky. For the most part, you are still going along the side of the ridge while gaining elevation. One brief interesting spot you will come up onto on this trail as you climb up is a small section that is covered in grass. As you near the top, it remains pretty steep and in the trees. But you will all of a sudden come out to an open spot where you meet the Amphitheatre Trail. If you take a left here, you are just a short distance from the White Arrow Trail.

When descending... the trail is accessed via the Amphitheatre Trail. If coming down the White Arrow Trail, there is a clearly marked intersection with painted markings that read "TO SIDE FOOT" where the Amphitheatre Trail crosses over the White Arrow. Take a left here and the Sidefoot Trail is just a short distance away. The trail starts down into the trees and stays there with no views. It is steepest at the top and goes down the mountain while also moving along the side of a ridge to your left. The trail is pretty easy to follow when in the thicker trees, but in a couple more open spots you might have to look ahead to make sure you are going in the right direction. As you continue down the trail will level out some and the Hedgehog, Noble, and Do Drop Trails will come in from your left. Just after these trails you will come to the end as you get to the open site of the old Halfway House.
